Believing that everyone needs interests outside of their professions, Jim’s passion for wine began to develop more than 35 years ago. Early influences were actually television shows: The Galloping Gourmet (Graham Kerr) and Julia Child. Doing the cooking for himself and his roommate, Jim started to try different things with food and wine. As with many experiments, some worked and some didn’t. Building on this early experience, he began to learn more and more about wines and how to purchase, store, and serve them. When he met Dotty, the woman who would become his wife, he found a kindred spirit; someone who shared his interest in wine.
They have visited some of the most famous wineries and vineyards in this country, and Jim has bought Bordeaux futures in great vintages such as 1982. They began to attend formal wine tastings in the 1970’s and continue to participate in formal and informal tastings 3 or 4 times a month. His column, Fermented Thoughts, was published in Business Owners and Entrepreneurs Success Tactics (BEST) magazine.
Jim and his wife Dotty have two sons. One is married; he and his wife live and work in Central Florida. The younger son lives and works in New York.
In addition to his wine blog, Jim has an online business that offers advice, techniques and support to those looking to do business online. He is currently working on two projects: a video series that will help people make the right decision as to an online business, and a blog designed for the online marketer, TheHunted Marketer.com
